FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Why consign with InnoAV Sports Collectables?
We currently consign on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out if you'd like to sell one of your collectables. Thanks!!! Most consigners these days will take your collectable and list it in a massive auction starting everything at 99 cents. They push volume and take the profits from every transaction, regardless of if your collectable sold well or got "stolen". While we can certainly do this (our "Fast Burner"), we would NEVER want our precious collectables given away like this simply to the lowest bidder! With our "Diamond in the Rough" service, we'll take the journey with you...from examining your collectable, cleaning/prepping it for grading, and once enshrined in it's new plastic home, enter it into our "Elite Gem" service. Here it will be treated exactly the same as our own collectables that are being rehomed to another loving collector!
  • What's the best way to package and ship my collectable?
It depends. While shipping raw cards is inherently riskier than shipping a PSA graded slab, there is no need to wrap it up like Fort Knox. We recommend the following minimum to ensure your collectables arrive safely: General: We highly recommend insuring the shipment of your collectables and requiring signature confirmation of delivery. Raw/Ungraded Cards: Your raw collectable should already be in a penny sleeve (sliced/nipped to prevent corner damage) and top loader. If not, let's do that first! Ideally, it's slid into and sealed in an additional sleeved/team bag to protect it from moisture. Next, you'll want to use masking/painter's tape to affix cardboard (slightly larger than the top loader) to both sides of the loader. This may now be put into the envelope (recommend an Armalope envelope) and marked with "Fragile, Do Not Bend." Slabbed/Graded Cards: Your slabbed collectable should receive the same treatment with cardboard taped to the front and back (slightly larger than the slab itself). Slide and seal into a graded card sleeve (although less necessary as PSA slabbed are already sealed from moisture). A standard bubble mailer (marked with "Fragile, Do Not Bend") will ensure your collectable makes the trip safely.
  • What communication can I expect from InnoAV along the way?
The communication is designed to match the service level selected: Diamond in the Rough provides individual updates on all aspects of the process: notification of receipt/invoice/offer (if applicable), pre-grading assessment/approval, shipment to PSA, updates when grading begins, pre-shipment grading reveal (if selected), PSA shipment arrival, then all communication associated with the Gem Elite service level. Fast Burner provides individual updates on receipt/offer (if applicable), which will include your anticipated auction start date and link. Remember, NO bidding at your own auctions!! Gem Elite provides individual updates on all aspects of the process: receipt/invoice/offer (if applicable), links to all relevant social media platforms, and updates on any transition to auction consignment.
  • What service do you recommend for my collectable?
If you're looking for the quick buck, we are happy to list your collectable quickly with "Fast Burner" in our weekly eBay auctions. No reserve lost start auction consignments are not ever going to be our first recommendation, but proven players and hot rookies tend to fare well. There are a lot of choices that will provide you this service, but none beat InnoAV Sports Collectables' fee schedule. If you have high-quality and/or high demand ungraded collectable(s), Diamond in the Rough is the way to go! Many collectors do not send their cards for grading for a variety of reasons...We are regularly sending and receiving cards from PSA and always have more room for yours! The Diamond in the Rough is the best way to extract maximum value for each of your collectables. (Note: We will not simply send in your collectable. We will examine it, prepare it, and discuss with you any issues that may indicate that grading may not be the most lucrative path; in the end, the decision will always be yours!) If you want to sell your collectable for the maximum value (we do too!), Gem Elite is the way to do it. Whether the collectable is graded or not, we put love and care into every one of our collectables for sale and want to do the same for yours! From custom marketing, to hosting longer term listings, to patient auctioning...we will protect you from the 0.99 cent fire sales!
  • How much will I make from the sale of my collectable?
The revenue generated from the sale of a collectable varies greatly with the platform used. eBay charges sellers a hefty 13.25% selling fee, while platforms like FaceBook/Instagram charge 5%...these fees can significantly reduce profits. InnoAV Sports Collectibles charges no selling fee for items consigned via our webpage (making our Gem Elite Service an even greater value)! Example (eBay Auction): **This is what EVERY other consigner will do to you!** You consign a 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan rookie card for $20,850 (the PSA value as of 6/5/23). The eBay selling fee (with $5.25 shipping and $2,230.95 taxes, paid by the buyer) would be $3,059.22...resulting in $17,790.78 in revenue from the sale. Our best in the hobby consignment fee of 5% would reduce the net revenue to $16,901.24. **Other consigners don't want you to know!! eBay is easy! Snap a pic, post a list, and take your $! Example (InnoAVSportsCollectables.com): **With Gem Elite, we'll sell your card like our card!** You consign a 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan rookie card for $20,850 (the PSA value as of 6/5/23). The InnoAV selling fee (with $5.25 shipping and $2,230.95 taxes, paid by the buyer) would be $0.00...resulting in $20,850 in revenue from the sale. Our best in the hobby consignment fee of 5% would only reduce the net revenue to $19,807.50!
  • Tell me more about the "Diamond in the Rough" Service.
Our hobby is tons of fun. Ripping open packs is something EVERYONE loves!! But now what? Wondering if that card is worth grading? You're not alone! It's one of the most common questions asked... With our "Diamond in the Rough" service, we'll treat your collectable with the exact same process we use for ours: Receipt, Cataloging, and Inventory: Regardless of the collectables destination, we'll take the care to keep careful records of it's journey. From filming it's package opening for shipping condition, taking initial photos under magnification, and cataloging into our "Pre-Grading" process. Your collectable will process right beside our own, as we exhaust our experience in the hobby to your benefit. Each collectable undergoes a pre-grading estimation on it's condition & it's likely (no guarantees) assessment by Professional Sports Authenticator. The pre-grading worksheet is used to research the expected value of your collectable for your approval. Based upon inspection of the primary facets of grading (corners, edges, surface, centering, and "eye appeal"), sometimes grading isn't the best answer and we're here to help with that! If grading isn't the answer, InnoAV Sports Collectables will work with you to change service levels. If things look good, we'll will submit your collectable for grading in our regular bulk submissions. PSA turn around times can be daunting, but we'll track everything for you and provide updates along the way. Some items (such as vintage cards and autographs tend to stay at PSA for extended periods of time), so we'll group items to minimize your particular turn times. When we receive word on your collectable's grading outcome, we'll let you know! Once back from PSA, consignment will begin within 5-7 days under our Gem Elite Service. Check out our FAQ on our Gem Elite Service for more details!

  • Tell me more about your "Fast Burner" service.
If you need a quick turn around, InnoAV Sports Collectables will immediately consign your collectable in our next weekly auction. Fast Burn Auction Consignments are conducted via eBay only and payment processes within 1-2 days after auction close. There are a lot of consigners that will provide you this service, but none beat InnoAV Sports Collectables' fee schedule.
  • What's the fine print? Our Terms & Conditions
“Shill Bidding” Policy “Shill Bidding” is when someone bids on an item to artificially increase its price, desirability, or search standing. There is simply no room in our hobby for this type of behavior. Unscrupulous and unethical behavior will leave us with no choice but to permanently terminate association with you. Collectable Condition/Authenticity Policy By agreeing to our terms and conditions, you are attesting that your collectable has not been altered in any way. Incidences of “card trimming”, “coloring”, and the like tarnish our hobby, put others at risk and also is not tolerable. Items that do not possess authentication will be accepted, but will not be consigned until proper authentication is made (at seller’s expense). If your collectable is too badly damaged to successfully consign, we’ll contact you to either come up with a plan or return your collectable. Consignment Fee Calculations Consignment fees are calculated individually per item based on the net revenue generated from the transaction. We pride ourselves on providing transparent invoices that clearly show the sales price, any platform selling fees, and application of the consignment fee schedule. See our FAQs for examples on how you’ll be paid. Returned Item Policy If an item goes unsold during an auction, it will simply be relisted. If an item gets returned from a buyer, we’ll re-list it and re-invoice any account adjustments. If an item simply won’t sell…we’ll contact you to either come up with a plan or return your collectable. Redundant Item Policy Many consigners will tell you they “reserve the right” to combine your items into lots. We will not combine your collectables…each collectable has value and will be sold individually, unless specifically requested by you. Acceptable Item Policy If it’s sports memorabilia, we’ll consign it (subject to our “Collectable Condition/Authenticity Policy”). If you are interested in consigning anything other than Sports Memorabilia, please contact us first to avoid having items returned at your expense. Payment Policy Please contact us if you desire any other payment method than PayPal (Good &Services). Note: We do not issue payments under “Friends and Family” feature of PayPal.
